The new Polish edition of THE HOOK AND THE EYE (and audiobook, too!) is coming soon!Już za nieco ponad dwa tygodnie do sprzedaży trafi "The Hook and the Eye", której autorem jest doskonale znany fanom powieściowego Bonda Raymond Benson.
Książka ta poszerza literackie uniwersum agenta 007. Jej głównym bohaterem jest Felix Leiter, który odchodzi ze służby w Centralnej Agencji Wywiadowczej i zatrudnia się w agencji detektywistycznej Pinkertona, a jego pierwszym zadaniem jest... rozpracowanie POLSKIEJ siatki szpiegowskiej operującej w Nowym Jorku.
Co dla nas szczególnie interesujące, to nie jest tak, że wątek polski jest w tej powieści jedynie tłem, albo stanowi punkt wyjścia. Otóż nie! Powojenne losy polski (akcja "The Hook and the Eye" rozgrywa się w 1952 roku) są istotne dla zrozumienia motywacji głównych bohaterów, a Benson poświęca temu całkiem sporo miejsca.
"The Hook and the Eye" zadebiutuje 25 marca nakładem wydawnictwa Skarpa Warszawska w formie papierowej, e-booka i audiobooka, czytanego przez Andrzeja Hausnera. Za tłumaczenie odpowiada sam Robert J. Szmidt, jeden z najpopularniejszych polskich pisarzy science fiction.

Raymond Benson
Raymond Benson is the author of over 40 published books. He is mostly known for being the third–and first American–writer to be commissioned by the James Bond literary copyright holders between 1996-2002 to take over writing the 007 novels. In total he penned and published worldwide six original 007 novels, three film novelizations, and three short stories. Most recently, he wrote the first novel featuring Bond ally Felix Leiter. Other recent works include THE MAD, MAD MURDERS OF MARIGOLD WAY (October 2022), HOTEL DESTINY–A GHOST NOIR (September 2020), BLUES IN THE DARK (October 2019), IN THE HUSH OF THE NIGHT (May 2018), and THE SECRETS ON CHICORY LANE (October 2017). Raymond is also the author of the acclaimed “Black Stiletto” 5-book saga that began with THE BLACK STILETTO in 2011 and ended with THE BLACK STILETTO: ENDINGS & BEGINNINGS (2014). Read more…
