'When researching for The Hook and the Eye, I came across obscure references to the Promethean Movement that existed in Poland and several Eastern European countries before WWII. While I have fictionalized the Prometheans in the novel, the basic tenet of their mission gelled with what I was looking for. As a result, a few characters in the story became Polish, especially the leading lady, Dora.' - Raymond Benson
Now published in Polish by Skarpa Warszawska, The Hook and the Eye is set in Fleming’s timeline of the 1950s, between Live and Let Die and Diamonds are Forever, and sees Felix turned private eye. A mystery, a romance, a spy story, a road trip tale and a postcard of a lost Americana, this is Raymond Benson at his very best.

Raymond Benson
Raymond Benson is the author of over 40 published books. He is mostly known for being the third–and first American–writer to be commissioned by the James Bond literary copyright holders between 1996-2002 to take over writing the 007 novels. In total he penned and published worldwide six original 007 novels, three film novelizations, and three short stories. Most recently, he wrote the first novel featuring Bond ally Felix Leiter. Other recent works include THE MAD, MAD MURDERS OF MARIGOLD WAY (October 2022), HOTEL DESTINY–A GHOST NOIR (September 2020), BLUES IN THE DARK (October 2019), IN THE HUSH OF THE NIGHT (May 2018), and THE SECRETS ON CHICORY LANE (October 2017).
